About the Tournament

The Tournament has been organized since 1988.
The Tournament takes place each year in collaboration with Tennis Europe and International Tennis Federation Junior Department.
Since 2004 it has been included in the calendar of ITF Junior Circuit for age group U 18 with Grade 4;
At the moment Tournament in TE has the 2nd Category for U 12, U 14 U 16 age groups and 4-th category in ITF Junior U 18 age group;

Some historical Facts:

The Tournament is taking place in Riga city district Mezaparks, at the tennis courts of SIA „Rigas Satiksme”, where 11 matches simultaneously may take place on the clay Corts.
The Tournament is running for one week (7 days), during which the Juniors – girls and boys – U12; U14; U16 and starting from year 2010 as well U18, singles and doubles are taking place. Different leisure time activities are also envisaged.
In 2005, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2017 the Tournament Riga Open got award of the Association of the Tennis of Latvia as the „Tournament of the Year”.
In 2012 Tennis Europe has nominated our tournament as the best in Junior category.
In 2010 Tennis Europe has nominated our tournament as second best in Junior category.
In year 2017 we celebrated 20-th anniversary
